In 1994, Bonnie Refinski-Knight joined Harris, Creech, Ward & Blackerby as a litigator, concentrating her practice in the defense of liability claims against physicians, nurses and hospitals. She also represents clients in general civil litigation including automobile liability, breach of contract claims, warranty claims, construction liability, and general liability insurance claims.

Ms. Refinski-Knight is a frequent lecturer to physician and nursing organizations as well as hospital administrations concerning risk prevention and claims management. She serves on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and is an advisory member to the North Carolina State Bar Ethics Committee. She has recently been chosen to become a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Ms. Refinski-Knight is listed in Law & Politics magazine as "Super Lawyer" and was selected as one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in North Carolina.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ms. Refinski-Knight was awarded her Juris Doctor at the University of Wisconsin at Madison where she was a member of the Jessup International Moot Court Team. Immediately after completing her undergraduate work, Ms. Refinski-Knight served over two years with the Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa.
